Truong My Lan, a businesswoman who chaired a sprawling company that developed luxury apartments, hotels, offices and shopping malls, was arrested in 2022.

Iran Human Rights (JAN 8 2016): Late morning on Thursday January 7, a prisoner was hanged in public on murder charges.

According to Iran state run media Tabnak, a 25-year-old prisoner was hanged in public at a city square in Shabestar (located in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan).

The report does not mention the name of the prisoner.

Unofficial reports identify the prisoner as Reza Jalili Alishahi.

According to photos IHR retrieved from Alishahi's execution, young children were present among the crowd who showed up to watch the hanging.
