Three death row convicts hanged in various Pakistan cities

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Three death row prisoners were hanged on early Tuesday morning in the jails of Attock, Mianwali and Jhang, Dunya News reported. 

The dead bodies of the prisoners were handed over to their families.

According to details, death row convict Sultan was executed in the District Jail Attock. 

Sultan had killed his wife in 2007 over a family dispute.

Death row prisoner Ghulam Gilani was hanged in the District Jail Mianwali in a double murder case. 

Ghulam Gilani had killed two of his nephews over a family dispute in 2004.

Another death row convict was executed in the District Jail Jhang. 

Prisoner Allah Ditta was hanged for murdering his friend over a small dispute in 1999.

Inmate hanged in Sialkot

January 14, 2016: A death row prisoner was hanged in District jail Sialkot in the wee hours.

Prison sources said, murder convict Sajid was hanged under tight security, for killing a person in Gujranwala in 2003.

His body was handed to family members after completing legal formalities.

Iran sentences popular rapper to death for supporting Mahsa Amini protests

An Iranian court has sentenced to death a popular rapper jailed for more than a year and a half for supporting nationwide protests sparked by Mahsa Amini's death, local media reported Wednesday . "Branch 1 of Isfahan Revolutionary Court sentenced Toomaj Salehi to death on the charge of corruption on Earth," the singer's lawyer Amir Raisian said, quoted by the reformist Shargh newspaper.

PETALING JAYA: Amnesty International Malaysia has commended Malaysia for the abolition of the mandatory death penalty and for imposing a moratorium on the execution of the death sentence, which has led to an overall decrease in the use of the death penalty by the courts. Kansas - A judge has denied a request by death-row inmates Jonathan and Reginald Carr to be resentenced in a December 2000 crime spree that included five murders. The Carr brothers filed motions in November requesting a new hearing to determine whether the evidence supports the death penalty. Their lawyers also sought new pre-sentencing reports and journal entries in the case.
