Truong My Lan, a businesswoman who chaired a sprawling company that developed luxury apartments, hotels, offices and shopping malls, was arrested in 2022.

Saudi Arabia: Three men executed for drug trafficking

March 11, 2015: Three people were beheaded in Saudi Arabia for drug trafficking.

Hammud Hajuri from Yemen and Mohammed al-Qahtani, a Saudi national, were executed in the province of Jizan after being convicted of smuggling amphetamines and hashish into the kingdom.

In a separate case, Fadi Abdulrazzaq, a Syrian national, was executed in the province of Jawf for smuggling amphetamines.

These executions bring the total to 43 so far this year. That is four times the number of people executed in the Gulf Kingdom during the same period last year – 11.

Around half of the executions carried out so far this year were for drug-related offences.
