Arkansas Supreme Court Decision Allows New DNA Testing in Case of the ​“West Memphis Three,” Convicted of Killing Three Children in 1993

On April 18, 2024, the Arkansas Supreme Court decided 4-3 to reverse a 2022 lower court decision and allow genetic testing of crime scene evidence from the 1993 killing of three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis. The three men convicted in 1994 for the killings were released in 2011 after taking an Alford plea, in which they maintained their innocence but plead guilty to the crime, in exchange for 18 years’ time served and 10 years of a suspended sentence. 

Iran: 11 prisoners hanged in Shiraz and Qazvin

The Iranian regime's henchmen hanged at least 11 prisoners is cities of Shiraz and Qazvin.

A group of eight prisoners were hanged secretly on Sunday, December 14 in Adelabad Prison in city of Shiraz.

Two other inmates were hanged on Wednesday in the same prion.

Another prisoner was hanged in the central prison of Qazvin on December 16.

In another anti-human measure, two young men were lashed in public in Chamestan, Mazandaran Province in northern Iran. 

Moslemzadeh, the regime’s judiciary official in Mazandaran, stated that each prisoner received 40 lashes.

On December 18, the 61st resolution condemning violation of human rights in the Iran under the mullahs’ rule was adopted by the UN General Assembly.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, urged the international community to adopt binding provisions against the rising trend of executions and the systematic and serious violation of human rights in Iran. Particularly that this regime is the world’s record holder not just in the number of executions, but in most realms for the most barbaric suppressions.

She called for the referral of the regime of Velayat-e faqih criminal record to the International Criminal Court by the United Nations Security Council.
